The TrilogyEC designed for Windows XP. Operation on Windows Vista has been tested and there are a few things to keep in mind when before installing:
Issue
When installing, the following error may appear: "Module C:\windows\system32\flash.ocx failed to register. HRESULT - 2147319780. Contact your support personnel." This error is related to the TrilogyEC’s attempt to identify whether or not Adobe Flash is currently installed on the system. Since the TrilogyEC’s release, Adobe has changed the ways that Flash is registered within Windows. Due to this change and the methods that were used within the TrilogyEC to identify (and install if necessary) Flash no longer succeed
The flash.ocx issue is not related to the TrilogyEC’s ability to place or accept calls in any way.
Work Around
If Adobe Flash is currently installed on your computer, you may simply ignore this error. If you do not yet have Adobe Flash (or are unsure), visit www.Adobe.com for the latest version. If installing Flash from the Adobe site, we recommend unchecking the box that asks to install any add-on toolbars. This problem should not impact the functionality of the program. In fact, whenever we have seen this problem, Flash was actually installed already and NO impact was so ever was realized.
Issue
When attempting to create a new user profile (after installing the TrilogyEC), you are re-directed back to the logon screen. This problem is caused by Windows Vista User Account Control and other security trimmings that were introduced in Windows Vista. When creating a user profile, the TrilogyEC writes an encryped data file (containing your profile information, logon, etc.) to the TrilogyEC Program Files directory. By default, Windows (Vista and 7) block programs from writing to this location.
Work Around
The only work around for this issue is to run the TrilogyEC as an administrator. This can be done (assuming that you have administrative privledges on the computer) by right-clicking the TrilogyEC’s shortcut and selecting “Run as Administrator”.
While we look forward to releasing the TrilogyEC version 1.5, the world of SharePoint and enterprise collaboration services has kept us busier than we had anticipated. We appologize for any inconvienience.
Thanks for your interest and support!
