Encryption |

The
TrilogyEC can operate in two different encryption modes. In either
mode, all data, files, personal & profile information and chat messages
are encrypted using 256 bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption.
The only difference between the two modes is whether the pass key is
internally generated (allowing connections to all TrilogyEC users), or
whether the pass key is generated from a user-defined password (allowing
connections to only those TrilogyEC users who have entered the same
password). The two modes are:
|
|
|
Secure
|
This mode utilizes 256 bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), U.S.
military grade encryption with an internally generated pass key. Sessions
conducted in this mode are secure and only those users with a TrilogyEC can
participate. The TrilogyEC is set in Secure mode by default.
|
|
Ultra-Secure |
This
mode utilizes 256 bit AES U.S. military grade encryption with a custom
pass key, generated from a user defined password. Sessions conducted
in this mode are secure and are accessible only to other TrilogyEC users
that have entered the EXACT same password.
Ultra-Secure mode can be enabled at any time during a conference, allowing
groups of individuals to break away from the original chat session to
their own private environment.
Note: If you are currently connected to multiple people and you choose go
Ultra-Secure, any member that does not will be unable to communicate with
you during the session. |

Use
the Encryption Configuration screen to specify which security mode that
the TrilogyEC should start up in. To change the current security
mode of the TrilogyEC while it is running, use the
Security Window found in the main interface.
